Buhler Commercial is currently undertaking a significant renovation of the East Bay Municipal Utility District’s Main Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations Center, modernizing this critical facility. The project involves a complete gut and remodel of the operational control center, including the replacement of upper and lower built-up roofs, installation of new perimeter railings and roof hatch guard railings, and the repair of damaged ceramic tiles and interior acoustical insulation. In addition, the scope includes renovations to the office, control room, lunchroom, and locker room, along with the installation of new furniture for these spaces. Critical upgrades include the installation of a new fire suppression system, replacement of cooling and condensing units, electric duct heaters, and rehabilitation of existing air handling units. The project also addresses the replacement of exhaust fans, variable air volume boxes, a transformer, and the distribution panel. As part of the renovation, temporary office and restroom trailers have been provided for District staff, while the safe removal and disposal of hazardous materials is carefully managed during all demolition work. This complex renovation is designed to enhance the facility’s efficiency, safety, and comfort for its staff while ensuring seamless operations in this vital wastewater treatment center.
